Subject: Letter of Intent for Reappointment to the Public Arts Commission Dear Honorable Mayor and City Council Members,
It has been an honor to serve on the Cathedral City Public Arts Commission. As my current term comes to a close, I am writing to formally express my strong interest in being reappointed for a second term to continue the momentum of our current cultural initiatives.
In my time on the Commission, I have focused on ensuring that public art remains a cornerstone of our city's identity. I am particularly proud of the following contributions:
Inaugural Festival of the Arts: I was proud to be part of the commission that produced Cathedral City’s first-ever Festival of the Arts, helping to establish a new tradition that celebrates our local creative community.
Public Library Sculpture Acquisition: I facilitated the successful selection and acquisition of the sculpture for our Public Library, ensuring the artwork complements the library's role as a center for community learning.
Esperanza Art Park: I served on the selection committee for the Esperanza Art Park sculpture, helping to curate a piece that enhances the park's atmosphere and serves the local neighborhood.
Community Grants Process: I have remained dedicated to our ongoing community grants process, ensuring that we continue to support local artists through a consistent and transparent framework.
Looking ahead, I am currently involved in the selection process for an additional sculpture for another of our city parks. I am eager to apply the experience I have gained from these successful projects to ensure our upcoming installations provide lasting value to Cathedral City. •
