2 Dear Members of the City Council,
I am writing to express my interest in serving on the Architectural Review Committee.
As a resident who cares deeply about the quality, character, and long-term vitality of our community, I believe thoughtful design plays an important role in shaping how people experience a city. The buildings, landscapes, public spaces, and developments we create today influence not only the visual identity of our community, but also how people connect with one another, move through their environment, and develop a sense of place and belonging. My education and background in Landscape Architecture was fueled with this philosophy.
Professionally, I have spent more than fifteen years leading multidisciplinary teams responsible for the design and delivery of complex environments around the world. I currently serve as Executive Vice President of Create at TAIT, where I lead a global organization spanning Story & Experience, Architectural Design & Planning, Production Design, Branding & Graphic Design, and Media. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with architects, planners, landscape architects, engineers, developers, and public agencies to bring projects from concept through implementation.
My experience includes destination developments, hospitality projects, themed environments, mixed-use developments, cultural attractions, and public-facing experiences across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. These projects have required balancing design excellence, community objectives, operational realities, sustainability considerations, regulatory requirements, and long-term stewardship of the built environment.
Beyond the technical aspects of design, I have developed a deep appreciation for placemaking and the idea that successful projects do more than meet functional requirements; they create meaningful experiences and contribute positively to the identity of a community. I believe strong design review helps ensure that new development enhances rather than diminishes the character of a city.
If appointed, I would bring a collaborative approach, a thoughtful design perspective, and a commitment to evaluating projects fairly and objectively. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute my professional experience while helping support responsible growth, quality design, and the continued success of our community.
Thank you for your consideration. I would be honored to serve on the Architectural Review Committee.
Sincerely,
Tyler Rinehart
