Title: Ordinance 894 Amendment, 2025 California Building and Fire Codes
RECOMMENDATION
To introduce and provide first reading, by title only, and waive further reading of an Ordinance amending the previously adopted 2025 California Building and Fire Codes to correct minor numbering errors and clarify language related to Sewer Connections.
BACKGROUND:
On November 12, 2025, the City Council adopted the 2025 California Building and Fire Codes; including applicable local amendments and findings. The applicable 2025 Code cycle became effective January 1, 2026.
DISCUSSION:
Following adoption, staff identified minor administrative numbering corrections within the Ordinance. This proposed amendment corrects numbering references within the Ordinance title and makes a minor language revision to the Sewer Connection provisions. These changes do not modify the intent or substantive requirements of the City’s previously adopted 2025 Building and Fire Codes.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the proposed amendments.
