Dear Ava Community Energy Board Members,
My name is Davis Harper, and I'm the Community Advisory Member representing the City of Stockton. I'm commenting tonight from the other side of the Altamont Pass, asking for your support to accept unincorporated San Joaquin County into Ava's JPA. This is an enormous opportunity to deliver local clean energy programs to communities who have historically borne the brunt of pollution from freeways, ocean-going vessels, industrial agriculture, and other sources. There are also many under-resourced county pockets within City of Stockton boundaries, so having one default community energy provider across city and county lines will be a great benefit. I look forward to your support tonight, and the longer term work ahead for Ava to build a presence, learn from the many incredible leaders in one of the most diverse communities in the nation, and expand the agency's clean energy and local development objectives.
