Dear Ava Community Energy Board,
I am a long-time customer of Ava, and a proud supporter of community-based clean energy.
I urge you to oppose signing on to the SB 540 support letter (item 17 on your agenda tonight).
While supporting the development of clean energy markets is commendable, SB 540 could expose California to the Trump Administration's oversight, which has already shown its intentions to kill renewable energy. Moreover, it distracts from Ava's focus on investing in a local clean energy economy, which member cities and counties desperately need for long-term energy security.
As written, SB 540 should not become law, and Ava should not be supporting it.
