Dear Ava Board,
I'm writing regarding Item 17. SB 540 Support Letter (Action Item.
SB 540 is a VERY controversial proposal that could threaten California's progress on climate. Giving any of California's authority to FERC and the Trump administration is a dangerous action. At the very least you should delay taking a vote. After all, what's the hurry? The legislative year goes until September.
There are actually several very good bills: SB 332, SB 222, and SB684/AB1243--all of which should be higher priority than SB540.
Please delay any action on SB540 until full public scrutiny is scheduled.
