1 101,952 In accordance with the San Francisco Sunshine Ordinance (Chapter 67 of the San Francisco Administrative Code) and the California Public Records Act (California Govt. Code 6250) the SFPUC responds to over 400 public record requests a year and the volume of requests continues to grow.
The current Public Records request staffing is 70% of one FTE, with support from point of contacts of each Enterprise and Bureau. External Affairs is redistributing work so that this position is dedicated to Public Records requests fulltime, as well as retaining additional resources to maintain the Next Request system to track all requests. This request for a permanent position aligns with other City departments' approach to this process.
