Summary of Proposed
Commission Action:

Approve an increase of 325 calendar days to the contract duration contingency for Wastewater Enterprise, Renewal and Replacement Program-funded Contract No. WW-697, As-Needed Main Sewer Replacement No. 8, with JDB & Sons Construction, Inc.; and authorize the General Manager to approve future modifications to the contract for a total contract duration of up to 765 consecutive calendar days (approximately two years and one month), with no change to contract amount. This action constitutes the Approval Action for the three Contract Service Orders described below (work on Front Street from California Street to Pine Street, work on Minna Street from 5 th
Street to Mary Street, and work on Elizabeth Street from Diamond Street to Castro Street)
for the purposes of the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 31.04(h) of the San Francisco Administrative Code. The Planning Department has determined that this action is exempt from the CEQA. If the item is approved, the Commission will rely on that determination to make its decision.

Background: The Contractor requires additional time to complete work for three Contract Service Orders due to ongoing project coordination impacts:

1. Work on Front Street from California Street to Pine Street will begin earliest in January 2022 due to the City’s holiday moratorium work requirements;

2. The schedule for work at Minna Street from 5 th Street to Mary Street requires adjustment to coordinate street access with ongoing private development activities; and

3. The schedule for work at Elizabeth Street from Diamond Street to Castro Street requires adjustment to coordinate work scope with City CD D project WD -
2765 and the SF Public Works
Paving Program.
