Status of Construction Change Orders
Q3/FY2021-2022 (January 1, 2022 – March 31, 2022)
Attached for your review is the Q3/FY2021-2022 quarterly update report on WSIP construction Change Orders (COs). The attached summary tables show the status of construction COs for all WSIP regional project contracts awarded as of March 31, 2022.
The costs for approved COs increased from $526.8 million to $526.9 million, an increase of approximately 0.02%. This increase was due to the processing and approval of potential and pending COs during the quarter. The total value of approved COs as of March 31, 2022 remained the same as last quarter at 28.0% of the total awarded contract amount essential to meeting the established Level of Service (LOS) goals and objectives of the various WSIP projects. The costs for approved COs on all WSIP construction contracts excluding the Calaveras Dam Replacement Project (CDRP) have increased from $218.6 million to $218.7 million. The total value of approved COs on all WSIP construction contracts excluding the CDRP as of March 31, 2022 remained the same as last quarter at 13.5% of the total awarded contract amount of the non-CDRP WSIP projects.
WSIP Status of Construction Change Orders
Q3/FY2021-2022 (January 1, 2022 – March 31, 2022)
During the reporting quarter, the overall percent completion of all construction contracts increased from 99.1% to 99.2%1. The value (and percent of the original contract value) of approved, pending, and potential COs for all regional projects increased from $528.0 million (or 28.1% of the original contract value) at the end of December 2021 to $528.5 million (or 28.1% of the original contract value) at the end of March 2022. The value of approved, pending, and potential COs for all regional projects excluding the CDRP (and percent of the original contract value excluding the CDRP) increased from $219.8 million (or
13.5% of the original contract value) to $220.3 million (or 13.6% of the original contract value) over the same period.
During the reporting period, January through March 2022, no new Contracts have been issued NTP. During the reporting period, Fish Passage Facilities at Alameda Creek Diversion Dam (Contract No. WD-2729), achieved Final Construction Completion.
