My name is Kimberly Bowman and I am with the California Department of Water Resources. I am reaching out to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission in regard to the California Statewide Groundwater Elevation Monitoring (CASGEM) Program. SFPUC is currently registered as a groundwater monitoring entity for 7 groundwater basins under the CASGEM Program, and the original SFPUC point of contact, Christopher Lyles, is no longer with SFPUC.
Our records show that data from several CASGEM wells in San Francisco has not been submitted to DWR or is otherwise limited. As part of the CASGEM Program, monitoring entities are required to submit at least two groundwater level measurements per year from each monitoring station in their monitoring network. These measurements are intended to capture spring highs and fall lows, typically in March and October of each year.
Please see the attached file for the list of wells and a map of their locations.
DWR values the data collected from these wells as they provide valuable information for drought monitoring and regional conditions reporting. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to update SFPUC's point of contact and let me know if I can be of any assistance with uploading your data to CASGEM.
