NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: During its regular meeting on June 24, 2025, at 1:30 PM, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) will hold a public hearing to consider a change in the rebate amount for the SFPUC’s existing commercial clothes washer rebate program from $5000 dollars per qualifying commercial-grade clothes washing machine to $1,000 dollars per qualifying machine. The $5,000 rebate amount was funded through a one-time appropriation of $350,000 as directed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, and that has been expended. The SFPUC is also proposing to eliminate the 10-dwelling unit or more eligibility requirement for multi-family properties to allow any size multi-family properties to participate for washers installed in common-area laundry rooms, and add a SFPUC accounting requirement that applicants who aren’t the water account holder provide written permission from the water account holder.
