The remote control and monitoring of the additional EFWS isolation valve is requested as an enhancement to SFWD’s operation during an emergency event and serves as a pilot project to the City’s westside Potable EFWS (PEFWS) pipeline project.

An abandoned PG&E gas pipe was discovered during the additional potholing investigation. The abandoned gas pipe would conflict with the electrical duct bank routing. PG&E was notified, and project team is coordinating with PG& E for the safe removal of the gas pipe under this contract.
