Proposal: AUTO - 569 - Utility Field Services
Change Request Type: New Proposals
Fund/Dept/Auth/Proj/Act: 24970/298650/10000/10029992/0004 This request supports Utility Field Services by repurposing positions and aligning staff duties with the needs of operating and maintaining Power’s growing electrical distribution asset base. It adjusts budgeted positions to match on-the-ground responsibilities and provides funding to purchase electrical distribution, streetlight, metering and solar photovoltaic materials and supplies to strengthen system resilience and shorten outage recovery times. Additionally, we are requesting to leverage emerging technologies—such as the dep loyment of drones and docking stations—to improve the efficiency and safety of streetlight and overhead line inspections, and to enhance our ability to triage outages in real time. Finally, it funds the replacement of vehicles that are eligible under current fleet standards.

Approving these items will improve reliability, speed response to outages, and preserve essential technical capacity. These investments are essential to sustain the operational integrity, innovation, and strategic planning of our growing asset base.

Fund/Dept/Auth/Proj/Act: 24970/298650/10000/10029992/0004 This request is for an augmentation of the Customer Engagement Group to provide support on arrearage prevention and mitigatio n and low-income customer assistance programs. In addition, this request includes a Principal Administrative Analyst and contractual support for Salesforce platform development, maintenance, and integration activities. This will allow electronic fee collection, promote enhanced levels of service for customers, and improve staff workflow functionality through automating data intake, streamlining document version control, and improving productivity across teams. It also proposes converting two customer service representatives supporting Hetchy Power in the Customer Service Bureau from temporary to permanent. Hetchy Power accounts have approximately quadrupled over the last four years, many of which are low-income customers, and it is essential to sustain adequate staffing to ensure appropriate support for payment plans and discou nt-rate sign-ups.

Proposal: AUTO - 602 - Power Enterprise Senior Management Change Request Type: New Proposals
Fund/Dept/Auth/Proj/Act: 24750/198644/10000/10026777/0001 This request substitutes select Power Enterprise senior manager positions to reflect the growing complexity of assignments driven by increases in customers and assets. Updating these classifications aligns pay with the expanded scope of work, promotes equity across the PUC where comparable duties are performed at higher classifications in other enterprises and bureaus, and helps reduce pay compression. The change will strengthen recruitment and retention of experienced managers, improve oversight and accountability for larger portfolios, and reduce operational and programmatic risk as the enterprise grows.
