It has been established that meetings of the Board of Directors and all other legislative bodies of Pioneer Community Energy will be conducted pursuant to Government Code section 54953(e) (AB 361) and other applicable provisions of the Brown Act. And, on December 16, 2021, the Pioneer Community Energy Governing Board (1) reconsidered the circumstances of the state of emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic and (2) determined the state of emergency continues to directly impact the ability of the members to meet safely in person.
In order to protect public health and the safety of our Placer and El Dorado County citizens, the Public Comment for the Pioneer Audit & Finance Committee Meeting will be offered through the Zoom platform.
Public access to The Pioneer Audit & Finance Committee Meeting will be entirely by remote audio/visual participation. Therefore, the meeting will be closed to in-person public participation. Citizens who wish to comment should be prepared to use the Zoom platform via computer or telephone. Public Comment will be opened for each agenda item in sequence.

Pioneer Community Energy Audit & Finance Committee met in open session at 4:00 PM on December 8, 2021. Pursuant to Government Code section 54953(e) and other applicable provisions of the Brown Act, the meeting was conducted via live streamed teleconference accessed and viewed at the following web link: https://zoom.us/j/91070554488.
In order to protect public health and the safety of our Placer County and El Dorado County citizens, the Public Comment for the Pioneer Audit & Finance Committee Meeting will be offered through the Zoom platform. Public access to The Pioneer Audit & Finance Committee Meeting will be entirely by remote audio/visual participation. Therefore, the meeting will be closed to in-person public participation. Executive Director Eckert expressed appreciation for the Committee to meet regarding the Rates Update; and presented the main four points to be considered: 1) Power Supply costs have increased for Pioneer (generation); 2) Power Supply costs have increased for PG&E (generation); 3) “stranded” assets of PG&E are now worth more which will decrease the PCIA; and, 4) Rate Setting for 2022 is an opportunity for Pioneer to make the utility financially healthy and to create/repair value.

a) Received a presentation on the 2022 Rates Update.
Executive Director Eckert informed the Committee that the next meeting will be in January/February to review the Financial Audit and Mid-Year Budget.
