2023 - We are already a highly impacted community
by energy development.

WE ARE GIVING A LOT TO THE REGION ALREADY
PROPOSED JVR ENERGY PARK FOOT PRINT – PLACED
INSIDE OUR RURAL VILLAGE BOUNDARY – THE ONLY
OPEN LAND THATS NOT MOUNTAINS.

AND OUR OWNLY FARMLAND AROUND THAT WE COULD

USE TO BUILD A LOCAL, SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR
OURSELVES.

project size”

Community
Center

UNNECESSARY SWITCHYARD
Response in FEIR – both prepared by Dudek
This project includes a $20mm+ switchyard that is
completely unnecessary and will further drive up
distribution costs charged by SDGE – they should
instead directly connect to ECO Substation via
underground along the right of way – just like the
boulevard line did.

FLOOD RISKS UNANALYZED

THIS ENTIRE PROJECT IS BUILT IN

A FLOOD PLAIN
DUE TO A TECHNICALITY – SD

COUNTY AND FEMA HAVE NEVER
“STUDIED” THIS AREA - THE

FLOOD RISKS OF THIS SITE WERE
NOT ANALYZED AS ONE.

THIS IS THE PROJECT SITE BOTH ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE OF THIS ROAD PHOTO MAY 20223

ALTERNATIVES EXIST

1. THE EQUITY FOR JACUMBA ALTERNATIVE WOULD STILL ALLOW 80 MW OF SOLAR PRODUCTION (VS 90MW CURRENTLY) - COMPARE ACRES TO VIKING ENERGY.

2. A BATTERY ONLY ALTERNATIVE – SUPPORTED BY THE DEVELOPER - COULD REDUCE THE PROJECT FOOTPRINT TO UNDER 100 ACRES (VS 600 NOW)

WE JUST NEED SDCP TO PRIORITIZE EQUITY AND COMMUNITY OVER CORPORATE PROFIT “A FEW WELL-ORGANIZED
OPPOSITION GROUPS”

IS WHAT THE AGENDA

PACKET CALLS OUR

ENTIRE TOWN THAT WAS

IN OPPOSITION AND

SHOWED UP TO THE
BOARD MEETING.

THIS NOT A POLITICAL
“GROUP” THIS IS A

COMMUNITY
WHO IS THE “COMMUNITY” IN
SAN DIEGO COMMUNITY POWER?
Is Jacumba Hot Springs part of that Community?
Should we not have a seat at the table when discussing the major aspects of this projects and its impacts on our town.

WHAT IS EQUITY?
Does SDCP actually prioritize equity?
How does SDCP navigate inequitable project plans?

MONEY IS NOT EQUITY

EQUITY IS A SEAT AT THE TABLE
Unacceptable impacts that cash cannot solve – MONEY IS NOT EQUITY Unethical project – that produces unethical power - plain and simple Drop in the bucket – represents less than 2% of current deal flow in area - extremely large pipeline: 4,700MW currently in study process – hundreds more projects to come - zglobal engineers
Not every project should be built – this is one of those Please deny the renegotiation of this project and/or demand the COMMUNITY of Jacumba Hot Springs a seat at a mediation table.

PLEASE REPRESENT

ALL SAN DIEGO

COMMUNITIES
