City Council Agenda Report Meeting Date: September 15, 2026 TO: City Council
FROM: Barbara Martin, Administrative Services Director
RE: Revision to Conflict of Interest Code Reporting Categories REPORT IN BRIEF:
The State Political Reform Act requires the City to adopt a Conflict of Interest Code and requires various City staff and certain Board and Commission members to submit Statements of Economic Interests. The City is required to biennially review, and amend as necessary, the City’s Conflict of Interest Code to reflect changes in duties and responsibilities for various positions within the City organization.
Adoption of the proposed resolution amends that portion of the City’s Conflict of Interest Code, found in Section 2R.04.180 of the Chico Municipal Code, which lists the required disclosure categories for designated City officials and employees pursuant to the requirements of the Act.
This year, the revisions in the Code reflect the addition and deletion of certain job titles.
The City’s Conflict of Interest Code and Statement of Economic Interest forms will be provided to those staff members and Board and Commission members who are required to report during the next annual reporting period.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the following resolution:
