MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER
The May 24, 2023, Regular Meeting of the City of Chino Legislative Policy Committee was called to order at 3:02 p.m. by Mayor Ulloa in the Council Chambers.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Mayor Eunice M. Ulloa and Mayor Pro Tem Karen C. Comstock ABSENT: NONE.
PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
Roman Nava, Bridge Pointe Consulting, provided an introduction.
DISCUSSION
1. Review of Bills Tracked by the City of Chino. Receive a report of bills currently being tracked by the City of Chino and consider additional bills for City Council consideration at the June 6, 2023 Regular City Council Meeting.
Jack Morgan, Assistant to the City Manager, provided a report on the item.
Daphney Lezo Duran, Representative from Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez's Office, who participated remotely, provided a report on Assembly Bill 250.
Jason Gonsalves, Joe A. Gonsalves and Son, who participated remotely, provided a presentation on State legislative updates.
Police Chief Kevin Mensen, presented on Assembly Bill 742.
The Committee reviewed the report of tracked legislation and discussed the official City positions to be recommended to the City Council at the June 6, 2023 Regular City Council Meeting as follows: Oppose Assembly Bills 480, 1034, 742, and Support Senate Bill 747.
ADJOURN
The meeting adjourned at 4:06 p.m. The next Regular Meeting of the Legislative Policy Committee will be held as needed in these Council Chambers with at least 72 hours' notice per the requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act.
