BACKGROUND
The City of Chino is fortunate to have multiple non -profits and community groups dedicated to serving the public and preserving Chino’s unique history. To assist in their ongoing efforts, the City Council from time to time, authorizes expenditures from the City’s community support fund.
These expenditures serve a valid public purpose by helping to continue the outstanding services that these organizations provide to our community.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
To continue this tradition, Council Member Flores recommends that the City Council app rove the following contributions:
• Rancho Del Chino Rotary Club ($500): Comprised of local community members, Rancho Del Chino Rotary creates fundraising opportunities to supp ort local programs that particularly bolster initiatives to support young people in the Chino community. • Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce – CV Leadership Collaborative Project ($500): A 10-month long program comprised of executives from various business organizations.
This program provides tours of important organizations within Chino, Chino Hills, and neighboring areas. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and form relationships with leaders across industries in Government, Public Safety, Logistics, Manufacturing, Medical, Transportation, Education, Non -profit, and small and large businesses alike.
• Chino Valley Fire Foundation – Heart Safe and Bleed Safe ($500): These programs focus better treating and preventing trauma whether it be interventions/responses to sudden cardiac arrests or ensuring access to trauma kits while teaching the public live saving-intervention skills.
• Isaiah’s Rock ($500): Provides support, shelter, and resources to those who are in need.
