CALL TO ORDER
The July 24, 2024, Meeting of the Economic Development Committee was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by Council Member Lucio in the Council Chambers.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Council Member Marc Lucio and Council Member Curtis Burton ABSENT: NONE.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Zeb Welborn, President, Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce, provided updates on Chamber events and activities.
CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Minutes. Approve Minutes for the Economic Development Committee Regular Meeting on April 27, 2023 (All Members Present).
Motion by Council Member Burton, Second by Council Member Lucio, to approve Consent Calendar Item 1 as presented. The motion carried by the following vote:

DISCUSSION
2. Regular Committee Meeting Schedule. Cancel the regular meeting schedule for the Economic Development Committee and discussion regarding a new meeting schedule.
Jackie Melendez, Assistant City Manager, provided a report on the item.
Motion by Council Member Burton, Second by Council Member Lucio, with all in favor to approve the cancellation of the regular meeting schedule for the Economic Development Committee, currently scheduled to take place bi-monthly on the fourth Thursday of every month, and approve future meetings to take place as needed.

3. Economic Development Goals. Overview of the City of Chino's Economic Development goals.

The Committee discussed the City of Chino's Economic Development goals as presented in FY2023-25 Budget. The Committee considered opportunities to include social media spotlight opportunities for the Business of the Month award program.
4. Business Attraction & Branding. Discuss Business Attraction efforts and the Choose Chino brand campaign.
Jackie Melendez, Assistant City Manager, provided a report on the item.
The Committee discussed the citywide branding efforts and discussed the use of the tagline:
choosechino.org domain and the division name, Office of Economic Development, for the City's Economic Development efforts.
5. Networking & Events. Overview of the City of Chino's networking and membership efforts and priorities as they pertain to Economic Development priorities.
Assistant City Manager Melendez gave a report on the item.
The Committee discussed efforts and priorities related to Economic Development networking and events in the City of Chino.

The meeting adjourned at 5:06 p.m. The next Regular Meeting of the Economic Development Committee will take place as needed, in these Council Chambers with at least 72 hours notice per the requirements of the Ralph M. Brown Act.
