On September 6, the Chino City Council, San Bernardino
County Transportation Authority (SBCTA), Caltrans, and
representatives from across the region celebrated a major milestone in infrastructure improvements with the grand opening of the new SR 60/Central Avenue Interchange.

The new interchange features three through-lanes and
double left-turn lanes onto the freeway in both directions to improve traffic flow along Chino’s main north-south route and widening the existing eastbound and westbound on-
ramps. The bridge also received seismic improvements,
aesthetic upgrades, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps with tactile sensors.

Construction began in March 2021 and was completed in
April 2024.
“With the opening of this new interchange, Chino drivers will experience quicker and safer commutes with remarkable
ease,” said Chino Mayor Eunice Ulloa. “This interchange is the perfect addition to our growing community and fulfills a promise to our residents to keep our City moving in the right direction.”
