RESOLUTION NO. 2024-052
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHINO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ADOPTION OF THE UPDATED CITY OF CHINO CODE OF CONDUCT WHEREAS, the City of Chino City Council serves as the legislative branch of City Government and Consists of a Mayor and four Council Members, all nonpartisan; and WHEREAS, the Mayor is elected at-large and Council Members are elected in geographically defined districts, each for four-year terms; and WHEREAS, the City Council appoints the City Manager and City Attorney, with Department Directors appointed by the City Manager; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the City of Chino Code of Conduct for Council Members, Commissioners, Committee Members, and Board Members, on August 7, 2001; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to update the City of Chino Code of Conduct for Council Members, Commissioners, Committee Members, and Board Members, a written set of guidelines outlining appropriate council expectations, behavior and interactions with each other, City staff, citizens and all other groups encountered as a result of City business so as to efficiently and effectively develop and carry out the mission, vision, goals and established policies of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires the Code of Conduct be signed by members of each applicable body and be reviewed annually by the City Council to ensure continued commitment to the Code of Conduct and to consider potential amendments.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Chino resolves as follows:
SECTION 1: That the recitals detailed above are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That the City Council adopts the City of Chino Code of Conduct attached hereto as Exhibit A.
SECTION 3: That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting the resolution.
