RESOLUTION NO. 2025-008
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHINO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CHINO TO ACCEPT THE GRANT PROCEEDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $46,899 FROM CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TOBACCO GRANT PROGRAM FY 2024-25 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT NECESSARY DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY WHEREAS, the City of Chino prepared and submitted a grant application in April 2024 to receive grant proceeds from the California Department of Justice Tobacco Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Chino received notification from the California Department of Justice that the City had been awarded $46,899 in grant proceeds for a 3-year period; and WHEREAS, if accepted by the City, these grant proceeds will be used to reimburse tobacco enforcement and preventative measures including Minor Decoy operations and educating our youth of the dangers of tobacco; and WHEREAS, by way of these funds, the City of Chino will create a safer environment in the community through effective and sustained educational opportunities and enforcement; and WHEREAS, to secure these funds, the City Council of the City of Chino authorize the execution of the Memorandum of Understanding DOJ-PROP56-2024-25-1-013.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHINO AS FOLLOWS:
The foregoing recitals are true and correct.
The City Council of the City of Chino accepts all conditions prescribed in the Memorandum of Understanding DOJ-PROP56-2024-25-1-013.
The City Council of the City of Chino accepts the total grant proceeds in the amount of $46,899 over the next three fiscal years and to be reimbursed the cost incurred to conduct Tobacco Grant Program operations.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
