Council Member Ahmed attended an Economic Development ad hoc meeting and a Madera County Economic Development Commission meeting where they are going through the hiring process of a new Executive Director.

2. 2 STAFF VERBAL REPORTS
City Administrator Pruett continuing to work with Community Development and Finance on the Tyler financial software program; S& P gave him a credit rating update on the water and wastewater bonds on JCI energy project, in which the City kept BBB+ rating for water and Sewer climbed up to an A- rating; continuing working through labor negotiations; Caltrans officially shot down the idea of placing a Christmas tree on Robertson Boulevard; working on the Project Sunset groundbreaking ceremony that is tentatively scheduled for August 19 at 11 am.

Deputy Director of Recreation & Community Engagement Wisener reported 600+ participants attended open swimming pool days; the last Music in the Park is this Friday; there are two more Movies in the Park events; is focusing on upcoming events including Christmas and groundbreaking ceremony for Project Sunset.

Public Works Director Rogers reported that the Humboldt Street Improvement Project is ongoing; ran into some potential conflicts of the PG& E gas lines being shallow. Due to the concern, staff directed the contractor to pothole all of the services to verify how much of an issue this may be. So far, the shallowest has been about 20", with most over 24". As a result, we believe that we will be able to make a pavement section work while maintaining reasonable cover over the services and that the contractor should remain on schedule. However, if any other shallow service conflicts show up that could affect the schedule, staff will notify Council.

Currently, the contractor is trenching and installing the storm drainage piping per the schedule.

Robertson Median Beautification Project Update — Per Caltrans, the agreement for the Clean CA Funds is nearly complete. They anticipate sending it to us by this Friday. Once we receive the agreement and Council approves it, we can have QK move forward with finalizing the design and getting the project to bid.
