External
Oppose the Tenant Protection Ordinance and the proposed emergency ordinance. The council should notEmail adopt this unneeded local ordinance. It adds legal and other expense to the cost of providing needed rental housing. The city should redirect its efforts toward addressing the real issuewith rental housing, the need to increase the supply of housing to meet the burgeoning demand for housing.

Dear City Councilmembers,
I havea homein the city of ChulaVistafrom past4 years. I haveavery big mortgageandI pay $11,000property taxes annually and insurance and repairs worth of $ 7,000. I can't even cover just the mortgage from the rent I am collecting. You are making it extremely difficult for any homeowner to ever rent out their home. My daughter and her family will be moving to ChulaVista next year. All theseextra regulations are goingto causeundue burden on my family and my family should betreated equallyas anyrenter. Wecannot afford all theseadditional free moving expenseswhen we already are losing money. No homeowner can really make any money with even the present laws that are already existing. Pleasevote againstthis draconian extreme far reachingunfair regulations.
Thank you,
Vinod Kuruvadi

AsasmallMomandPopHousingproviderweopposeItem7.2asit woulddriveupcostsfor both housingprovidersandresidents, makeit harderto makeneededrepairsand iswide reachingand ill thought out or rushed. We havelong term tenants who we considerasneighborsaswe also live on the property. We havea good relationship with our residentsand are quick to resolvemaintenanceissues i.e. slow drains, heaters, smoke/ carbon monoxide alarms etc. They, in turn alert us in a timely manner of anyproblemsor requests. Wearestronglyopposedto thisfurther pushinto government overreach. We alreadypay $230.00 annuallyto the Stateof Californiaso an inspector cancome in to inspect" our property. This isjust one more attempt by government to co-opt private property.
