RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING BIDS AND AW ARDING A
PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH SITE ONE LANDS CAPE
SUPPLY FOR SMART IRRIGATION CONT ROLLERS AND
ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES
WHEREAS, Chula V ista Parks and Recreation maintains 65 parks and multiple service locations; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Div ision uses se ven different types of irrigation controllers to control water d ispersion to plant material in the city ’s parks, medians, and facilities; and
WHEREAS, due to t he need for continued water saving s and efficient operations, the need to upgrade the city ’s irrigation technology would require purchasing Smart Irrigation Controllers for all City parks and City maintained facilities; and
WHEREAS, in order to procure these services City solicited bids in accordance with Chula Vista Municipal Code Section 2.56.080 for contracts exceeding $100,000 . On July 28, 2022, the City of Chula Vista iss ued Request for Bi d (RFB) #B05-2023 on PlanetBids for one hundred and fifty -seven (157) Smart Irrigation Controllers and associat ed equipment and services for the Parks and Recreation Division; and
WHEREAS, PlanetBids identified 14 prospective bid ders and received 3 responses. Of the three responses the City identified SiteOne Landscape Supply as the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder at $526,240.06 for the total cost of controllers and associated equipment and services; and
WHEREAS, funding for the cost associated with the purchase agreement is a vailable in the Measure P Fund in accordance with the Infrastructure, Facilities and Equipment Expenditure Plan.
NOW, THERE FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it hereby accepts the bids and awards a purchase agreement with SiteOne Landscape Supply for 157 Smart Irrigation Controllers and associated equipment and services, in the form presented, with such minor modifications as may be required or approved by the City Attorney, a copy of which shall be kept on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and autho rizes and directs the Mayor to execute the same.
