NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista will conduct a public hearing to consider the following matter:
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR APPEAL - CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR LICENSE TO SELL.

In Person: Interested persons wishing to express their views on the matter described above will given an opportunity to do so at the public hearing.
Written Comments: Comments may be mailed or delivered to: City of Chula Vista, City Clerk Kerry Bigelow, 276 Fourth Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91910. Comments must be Received by the City Clerk beforethe close of the public hearing.
ENVIRONMENTAL NOTICE
The Project qualifies for a Class 1 Categorical Exemption pursuant to Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) of the California Environmental Quality Act State Guidelines.
ACCESSIBLE PUBLIC MEETINGS
Witten agenda materials in appropriate alternative formats, or disability-related modifications or accommodations, including auxiliary aids or services, to enable individuals with disabilities to participate in public meetings or services will be provided upon request. If you wish to challenge the City's action on these matters in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raise at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Office of the City Clerk at or prior to the public hearing. -
I hereby protest the issuance of a Beer & Wine License to:
US Super Gas for the premises at 1495 Melrose Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91911 and Chevron G&M Extra Mile Market for the premises at 1498 Melrose Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91911 On the grounds that:
1. Issuance of the licenses would result in or add to an undue concentration of licenses. The population in this area has not increased. No new buildings or apartments have arisen. There are already 3 beer and wine licenses within .5-mile radius.
2. There is already a problem with graffiti, theft of alcohol, homelessness, and drugs in the area.
Crime will increase.
3. Both these locations have applied for a beer and wine license many times prior and have been denied. Most recently in 2019 US Super Gas applied and got denied.
4. Lots of schools and children in the area. More licenses will lead to more underage drinking and beer runs.
7-Eleven, Seafood City, and Bobar Liquor already have the infrastructure in place to handle beer and wine. There are policies in place to properly check ID, especially at a time when the ABC is cracking down hard on such policies, so why add new locations
6. No public notice was given to the residents and surrounding businesses.
