23. In what ways are you associated with the business and or civic activities of the City? How has your participation reflected the interests and concerns with the protection of the civil liberties of all people which make up the City's residents? I am associated with some civic activities in the City of Chula vista, for example I have volunteered to help my local church located in Eastlake named "New Hope Church" (District 1) in which I helped Pastor Russ to train and organize various learning and sport activities to little children.

Another way in which I am associated with civic activities in Chula Vista would be the fact that I am currently serving as an intern in the Mayor's Office in which I help and assist staff and make sure that I finish my tasks efficiently and on time.

My participation in these events have allowed me to reflect the interests and concerns of Chula Vistans since I have made sure that I always address the issues that my community faces, either in church or in city hall as an intern. and fortunately both institutions have heard my input and have actually started to fix and solve the social issues that my community faces.

24. Please describe how you represent the diversity of Chula Vista? As a proud bilingual Chula Vistan who is an Hispanic American and a Mexican-American I firmly believe that I bring a diverse and interesting perspective regarding social issues to the table. I wholeheartedly believe that we are a strong and hardworking community and that we should embrace equality, and preserve our civil rights and civil liberties in order to improve the live of the people of our City and show them that we care about them and we understand each other.

Another way in which I represent the diversity of Chula Vista would be the fact that I am fluent in English and Spanish which has allowed me to communicate with the Hispanic community in Chula Vista and therefore I have heard their concerns and their worries and tried to help them to the best of my ability since I have always enjoyed to help people, and I have always stood firmly with the principle that states to "serve other, before yourself" that I will always hold throughout my life.

Chula Vista is my home, and I'm willing to work with other members of the Human relations Commission with the intent of helping our communities feel safer and protect their civil liberties and their civil rights, always opposing discrimination and oppression to anyone.

25. Please describe your interest in fostering better human relations in the City of Chula Vista.

I have always believed that the best accomplishments that society has done have been made possible because of cooperation which is why I'm interested in in helping our diverse community in Chula Vista to to have better human relations with each other so we can all prosper and raise a family in this city.

I enjoy cooperating with other people because being a cooperative individual allows me to listen to other ideas besides mine and by doing so, I am able to expand my knowledge and ideas about improving and bolstering better human relations in Chula Vista.

I know that as a community united we stand but divided we fall, and I have always supported and tried to unite different groups of people to forget our differences and realize that e all pursue the same basic values of freedom, we all want to feel safer in our communities, we all want to have our voice heard an finally we all strive to become better individuals to serve our community in life.
3 26. What would you hope to accomplish in the role of a Human Relations Commissioner? (250 words or less) One of the main accomplishments that I hope I could obtain for the City of Chula Vista would be to promote equality, justice and take care that the human rights of the residents of Chula Vista are protected.

Additionally, it is clear that as a City we must ensure that all our resident feel safe and protected in their neighborhoods which is why I firmly stand in favor of improving the social, economic, and cultural relations here in Chula Vista because I care about helping my community thrive and prosper, and I believe that I can help make that happen.

I would like to help my community fight the discriminations and oppression that various marginalized groups have faced here in Chula vista, and I believe that there is no better way for me to serve my community fight against injustice that being a member of the Human relations Commission.

As president of the School Site Council of my High School, I worked with other members to pass budgets that funded programs to support low-income students by providing free lunch for this school year and other programs which has give me some experience to understand and emphasize with people's problems and I believe that I would bring the same qualities to the "Human Relations Commission" if I were to be a part of it.
