RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VIST A APPROVING THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO
THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND NOVA
COMMERCIAL FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES FOR MUTIPLE
FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the City previously solicited proposals for janitorial services and an evaluation committee evaluated, scored, and ranked the responses based on the following criteria:
experience, personnel, operations/qualifications and costs; the committee ranked Nova Commercial first; and
WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement with Nova Commercial in July 2022 - with an initial contract term of July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, and upon satisfactory work performance, the parties could mutually agree to extend the contract for up to fo ur (4) additional one (1) year periods from July 1 to June 30; and
WHEREAS, Nova Commercial has performed satisfactorily, and staff is now proposing various amendments to the original agreement; and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment to the original agreement will add fiscal year 2024 to the initial term of the contract and reduce the options to extend from four (4) additional one (1) year periods to three (3) additional one (1) year periods – if all extensions a re executed the total term of the contract remains five total years; and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment s to the original agreement also incorporates the addition of Saturday services at various Recreation facilities and the addition of Loma Verde Recreation Center and Norman Park Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment to the original agreement increases the maximum not to exceed amount from $2,250,000 to $3,50 0,000 to account for the addition of the facilities noted above and additional facilities in the future as needed; and
WHEREAS, there is sufficient funding for the contract in the Fiscal Year 2022 -2023 Amended Budget; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council approve the first amendment to the Agreement with Nova Commercial for janitorial services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista that it approves the First Amendment to the Agreement between the City of Chula Vista and Nova Commercial for Janitorial Services for Multiple Facilities, in the form presented, with such minor modifications as may be required or approved by the City Attorney, directs the City Manager or designee to execute the same, and directs that an executed copy be kept on file with the Office of the City Clerk.
