RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING FUNDS FROM THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR THE BULLETPROOF VEST
PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the Bulletproof Vest Partnership is a program of the United States Department of Justice (administered by the Bureau of Justice Assistance) designed to pay up to 50 percent of the cost of bulletproof vests for law enforcement officers; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department reque sted funding via the Bulletproof Vest Partnership program; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department was awarded $ 4,422.96 for the purchase of bulletproof vests; and
WHEREAS, the grant requires a 50 percent local match, which has been identified in the Police Department budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it hereby accepts $4,422.96 from the U.S. Department of Justice and appropriates said funds to the supplies and services category of the Police Grant s section of the Federal Grants Fund for the Bulletproof Vest Partnership.
