I have dedicated my entire professional career as an attorney to public sector labor and employment law, first representing employees and labor organizations for 18 years while I was in private practice, to representing management since joining the Sheriff's Office in 2018. I believe I bring a unique set of skills that will benefit the Civil Service Commission as I have represented both employees and the appointing authority before civil service commissions and have handled classification appeals, grievances, labor arbitrations and contract negotiations.

I believe that a strong and effective civil service system is the cornerstone of good governance, and I am eager to contribute my skills and experiences to ensure a transparent and merit-based system that serves the City of Chula Vista.

With my background of having sat on both sides of the table, I bring a unique perspective on workforce management, strategic planning, and policy implementation. As a Civil Service Commissioner, I would prioritize accountability, ensuring that hiring, promotions, and disciplinary processes align with the highest standards of fairness and impartiality.

This role represents an opportunity for me to make a meaningful impact by safeguarding the values and principles that define an effective civil service system. I am ready to bring my dedication, professionalism, and collaborative spirit to this position, working to strengthen trust in City government and to support the critical work of Chula Vista City employees.
