RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROVING A MEMORAND UM OF
UNDERSTANDING (“MOU” ) BETWEEN THE CITY O F
CHULA VISTA AND THE CHULA VISTA MID -
MANAGERS/PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION (“MM/PROF”),
SEIU LOCAL 221, RELATED TO COMPENSAT ION AND
OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER , AS SET FORTH
HEREIN, TO EXECUTE THE AFOREMENTIONED MOU AND
ANY ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS WHICH MAY BE
NECESSARY OR REQUIRED TO IMPLEMENT SAID MOU
WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Chula Vista (“City”) and the Chula Vista Mid-Managers/Professional Association (“MM/PROF”), SEIU Local 221, expired on December 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the City and MM/PROF have met and conferred in good faith, as required by the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act ("MMBA") California Government Code Sections 3500 et. seq. ; and
WHEREAS, the City and MM/PROF have reached agreement on compensation and other terms and conditions of employment, and consistent with the MMBA, have set forth those terms in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which has been designated as Attachment 1 for identification in this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned MOU was ratified by a vote of the MM/PROF membership on March 6, 2025.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it hereby does (1) approve the MOU between the City of Chula Vista and MM/PROF; (2) authorize the City Manager or her designee(s) to execute said MOU and any additional or required documents necessary to implement said MOU; and (3) authorize the City Manager or her designee to make such minor modifications to said MOU as may be approved or recommended by the City Attorney's Office.
