1. Written Communications - Acosta - Received 10_01_25.pdf

2. Written Communications - Werner - Received 10_07_25.pdf James Moffat
My name is James Moffat and I am President of the Chula Vista Democratic Club, I want to express my full support for Councilmembers Chavez, Fernandez, and Inzunza. Their silent walkout was a dignified and peaceful act, a reminder that free speech takes many forms, including the right to quietly dissent.

It’s deeply disappointing to see the hostility directed at them from some members of our community, including those who claim to defend free speech yet condemn it when it challenges their own views. Even Charlie Kirk often spoke about protecting free expression, so criticizing our councilmembers for exercising that same right misses the point entirely.

I urge everyone to bring down the temperature and lead with respect. Let’s focus on building a Chula Vista that values open dialogue, compassion, and the dignity of all people. Thank you Moved by
