26. What do you hope to accomplish in the role of a Health Wellness and Aging Commissioner? (250 words or less)
I hope to leverage my healthcare leadership experience and quality improvement expertise to advance health equity and improve wellness outcomes for Chula Vista residents, particularly our aging population.

Having spent over a decade working in healthcare quality and patient safety, I understand how systemic improvements in care delivery can transform community health outcomes. Additionally, having cared for my aging father who had Parkinson's disease, this mission of helping the aging population is deeply personal and close to my heart. I've witnessed firsthand the challenges families face in navigating healthcare systems, accessing appropriate services, and maintaining dignity and quality of life for loved ones with chronic conditions.

My primary goals include:

Enhancing Access to Quality Healthcare: I want to work toward reducing barriers to healthcare access in our community, especially for seniors and underserved populations. My experience developing patient- centered programs and navigating complex healthcare systems, combined with my personal caregiving journey, positions me to identify gaps in services and advocate for solutions that meet the diverse needs of Chula Vista residents.

Promoting Healthy Aging Initiatives: I aim to support programs and policies that enable our aging population to maintain independence, health, and quality of life. Drawing from my experience in developing evidence-based care models and implementing cost-effective strategies, as well as my understanding of the real-world needs of families caring for aging loved ones, I can contribute to initiatives that address chronic disease management, fall prevention, mental health support, and other critical aging- related health concerns.

Building Strategic Partnerships: I want to foster collaboration between healthcare providers, community organizations, public agencies, and residents to create a coordinated approach to wellness and aging services. My track record of stakeholder engagement and building multidisciplinary partnerships can help strengthen the connections needed to address complex community health challenges effectively.
