1. Excused Absence Memo for Feb 2nd Special Council Meeting.pdf Richard
Mayor appeared on KUSI news on Feb 19, 2026 stating he "properly" notified the city manager of his Feb 2nd absence in December 2025. Please have the Mayor provide that documentation as an excuse to missing this meeting! Enough is enough with Mayor McCann lying and using the media to cover his behind & accusing his city council members for his lack of communication.

Mayor McCann is expected to be a leader in the community and communicate with city staff and council in ADVANCE when he is not available to perform his civic duty as Mayor! This Memo is dated 2wks after his absence on February2, 2026! Which caused unnecessary lies being spread on a social media platform ran by his sr assistant, KUSI news and multiple news articles.

This outside counsel has taken advantage of the city council and pursued losing litigation against my firm, CV Amalgamated and others. The fact that you have been paying this law firm for now SIX years and they have refused to discuss mediation, settlements, or any resolution because they have become "rent seekers" and are pursuing this in THEIR ongoing financial interest and billable hours - not in the best interest of the city. This makes the city look bad for small business, and puts the city at risk of damages. Look at the high-profile lawsuits you have already lost due to them (including the Appellate Court in my case and others). This ongoing adversarial position of the city costs you in reputation and money. You can choose to put a stop to this waste of taxpayers' money paying lawyers who keep telling you that they'll win when they have already lost so much. This law firm does not care about the city's reputation, only their own billable hours. The endless perpetual payments with nothing to show for it is the very definition of "rent-seeker". Be good stewards and stop this waste and abuse.

We acknowledge Mayor McCann is and has been campaigning for re election as Mayor since he hired his assistant last summer to take photos of him and post on every neighborhood social media page. Mayor McCann we are disappointed in the leadership skills you have shown during meetings, on social media, and now on the news! I suggest you inform your wife to stop replying on your behalf and teach your assistant to respect ALL city residents not just D1 residents!
