Mayor McCann why is your wife handing out Proclamations on behalf of the City of Chula Vista in Rosarito, Mexico? To my knowledge she not part of the Mayors staff or an elected official.
Please be transparent in your relationship with the Cardenas family. A few weeks ago you promoted a medical fundraiser on multiple social media pages. This event was held for CVs very own Democrat fraudsters Jesus Cardenas' cousin. The same Democrat that your wife keeps complaining about on social media! Was this just another political favor so he doesnt financially help your opponent? ME
Can someone explain why the employment of Mara Elliott is being kept so secretive? She’s allowed to work fully from home against policy to prevent her being seen? Again, why the secrecy other than her obvious failure with 101 Ash at San Diego? Jeff Shelton
Mayor and Members of the City Council,
I again respectfully ask the Council to place Chula Vista’s use of Flock Safety ALPR cameras on a future agenda and consider ending the program.
ALPRs systematically capture vehicle-location information from residents who are not suspected of any crime. When this information is retained, searched, or shared across agencies and networks, individual camera detections can collectively reveal patterns of movement.
My pending public-records requests are examining audit logs, outside-agency access, data sharing, retention and deletion practices, and compliance controls. These are precisely the safeguards residents should not have to uncover individually through CPRA requests.
Before continuing or renewing Flock, the Council should publicly examine who can access Chula Vista ALPR data, how searches are audited, whether deletion requirements are independently verified, documented misuse or unauthorized access, and measurable evidence of the program’s effectiveness.
I respectfully request that Flock/ALPR oversight be placed on a future Council agenda and that the Council consider terminating the program and removing the cameras.

Mayor and Members of the City Council,
Regarding Item 7.6, I urge the Council not to treat Veritone simply as redaction software without ensuring that the agreement contains meaningful protections governing the underlying data and technology.
Before approving this agreement, the Council should establish exactly what information Veritone will receive or process; whether City video, audio, images, metadata, or other records leave City-controlled systems; whether Veritone or subcontractors can retain or access that information; and whether any data may be used for AI/model training or purposes unrelated to providing the contracted service.
The City should also establish retention and deletion requirements, audit rights, security requirements, breach notification procedures, restrictions on secondary use and disclosure, and procedures for terminating vendor access when the contract ends.
Automated redaction can improve public access to records, but efficiency should not introduce new privacy risks.
I respectfully ask the Council to approve Item 7.6 only if the agreement provides enforceable protections for City data and prohibits unauthorized secondary use, sharing, or AI training.
