Comment: Honorable Members of the City Council, I have been resident of Clovis for most of my life, having attended Clovis schools and graduated from Clovis High School. For the past seven years, I have called the Loma Vista area my home, investing in a two different homes with the expectation of promised development and amenities. Upon learning about the proposed business plan for the Loma Vista Marketplace, I initiated a petition to request a reevaluation of the types of businesses slated for occupancy. The response from our community has been overwhelming, with over 2000 signatures expressing dissatisfaction with the current business model. Clovis stands at a unique juncture where we have the opportunity to diversify our business landscape and offer residents a wider variety of options. Rather than settling for repetitive businesses, our community demands better. I urge the City Council to carefully consider the sentiments expressed in the attached petition and accompanying comments. Our residents have spoken, and it is our responsibility to listen and act in their best interest. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
