Comment= I do not agree with adding In God We Trust to the chambers. It violates the 1st Amendment of the Constitution which states government shall make no law respecting the establishment of a religion.
This motto does exactly that, establishes the start of a religion, Christianity. We know that the current federal government wants to control its people, led by a rapist with 34 felonies, he is using good people's love for their god to force them to vote for seemingly moral values. But, as history and the Bible have shown, you cannot legislate religious morality. Some Christians believe women shouldn't be allowed to get a divorce, control the size of their families, work outside the home, love their queer family members.
Some Christians believe differently. So how can everyone promise to 11trust God"? What does that even mean? Our leaders should be independent thinkers, free to make tough but ethical choices, not be bound to follow the loudest most radical person in the room, which is what ends up happening. One man called it a "call to arms" even he knows this action is one that will cause division. The problem is he thinks it is a war between good and evil and not, a difference of opinion between people who think freedom means freedom for everyone, including those who simply and honestly cannot believe in gods or don't have a Christian belief. Thank you.

To: Vong Mouanoutoua <[email protected]>; Andrew Haussler <[email protected]> Subject: Oppose Installation of Religious/Natl Motto Sign I can't attend this evening's meeting, but I would like to let you both know that I strongly oppose the installation of a sign displaying the current national motto, or any other sort of religious sign.
A better national motto, as many have argued, is "E Pluribus Unum." But that's not the argument.
There is no reasonable argument for installing the proposed sign--there are only defenses, such as "others have done it," "it's the national motto," and "it's not illegal." Most city residents prefer good governance over ideological crusades such as this one.
Thank you,
Rachel Youdelman, Clovis 93612

Tract No. 3442 Public Comment - January 12, 2026
_ _ Received
We the undersigned agree that: JAN 1 2 2026
. . ADMIN/CITYMGR 1. The proposed traffic access from Willow onto Escalon Ave. not be completed.
2. South bound traffic on Willow would not be able to make a left turn onto Escalon Ave.
3. This access would remain the same as it has been since Willow Ave. was put through in 1993.
The reasons for closing this proposed traffic access are:
1. To prevent increased traffic flow through the subdivision. Traffic would greatly increase as Escalon would become an access to Cole Elementary for the subdivisions west of Willow Ave.
2. Keeping this access closed to south bound traffic from Willow Ave. provides greater safety for our children who play in this area and walk East on Escalon Ave. to reach Cole Elementary.
3. Children walking to and from Cole Elementary from the pedestrian crossing and from Clovis West Estates homes must cross four intersections to reach Cole.
Increasing the traffic will greatly increase the chance of a child being hit by a car.
4. To protect against increased crime by limiting access to our homes and property.
5. Speeding on Escalon Ave. is a problem. Traffic coming off Willow Ave. is traveling at 50 miles an hour. It is likely that some drivers would not slow to 25 once 1they are on Escalon Ave.
6. Traffic would back up in front of homes closest to this intersection preventing them access to their property.

-r.RACT' NO. 3442
We the undersigned agree that:
1. The proposed traffic access at Escalon onto Willow
not be canpleted.
2. An eight foot sound barrier wall be constructed
upon cORi)letion of the Willow Extension between
Barstow and Hem.don. This wall would run from
Bullard to the northwest corner of the Clovis West
Estates. The wall would close off the access of
Escalon onto Willow.
The reasons for closing the proposed traffic access are:
l. To prevent increased traffic flow through the
subdivision. Traffic would increase greatly as
Fscalon would becane an access to Cole Elementary.
2. To provide greater safety for our children who are
use to playing in this area with very little
traffic.
3. To protect against increased crime by limi. ting
access to our hanes and property.
4. Residents in the Hallnark homes want their children
to cross Willow at a major cross street (Sierra).
The reasons for constructing a sound barrier wal 1 are:
1. To reduce noise generated by traffic on Willow.
2. To provide greater safet;y for children.
3. To reduce the direct flow of increased vehicle
emissions into the sub-division.
4. To prevent increased vandalism and theft.
5. To minimize the negative ini>act the Willow
extension will have on the quality of life in
our neighborhood.
6. To give residents imnediate relief from the noise
generated by traffic, instead of testing for noise
levels after completion (as stated in E.A. No.
90-70), since it has been stated that the noise
levels will exceed Environmental Assessment limits.

Please, please, please don't seriously consider imposing religious values on the citizens of Clovis. This used to be a free country, but now we have a mad dictator for a president, and shockingly our local government is trying to herd us together into an archaic religious group. This is unbelievably scary. I blame Gary Bredefeld for initiating this dangerous practice of imposing his religious beliefs on the citizens of Fresno, and now it's spreading to my city. I told him what I thought of him, when he came to my house while campaigning, and I'll tell you the same thing. I'll never vote for or support anyone who seeks to impose a religious mandate on their fellow citizens. I never thought I'd see this here. Anyway, why would people trust in a god? This world is going falling apart! The only way to return some sanity now is to vote intelligently and protest, which is what I'm doing. Clearly "We the People " is the only appropriate motto. Geesh!I
