The Regular Meeting of the Cultural and Arts Commission of the City of Coachella was called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Chair Irene Rodriguez

AYES: Chair Rodriguez, Commissioner Ponce, and Alternate Commissioner Figueroa Have selected option C for the Dolores Huerta portrait to be located in the main room on the south wall, adjacent to the Cesar Chavez photograph and the Vineyard Harvest oil painting by Laurence Neufeld in the Coachella Public Library. We will add plexiglass to prevent damage to the portrait. Chair Rodriguez also requested to add a label copy or QR code with information about the portrait.

AYES: Chair Rodriguez, Commissioner Ponce, and Alternate Commissioner Figueroa Have chosen Utility Boxes and Holiday Windows as part of the Youth Art Program. This project can start as soon as next week since the holidays are around the corner. Chair Rodriguez suggested looking into “Arts For LA” for inspiration; she has a contact in that program and will reach out to them for suggestions.

Approved: Chair Rodriguez, Commissioner Ponce, and Alternate Commissioner Figueroa Roll Call
AYES: Chair Rodriguez, Commissioner Ponce, and Alternate Commissioner Figueroa All agreed to $9,500 for Culturas Music and Arts “Arte de Barrio” events, but there was a small error in the budget that was calculated 1,000 dollars off. Commissioners will honor the amount requested.
