City Council of Coalinga,
I purchased a home in Coalinga last year from Adam Adkisson on 115 Hill View Ln. Part of the comfort in the buying process was knowing Adam was a member of the council and he represented himself as such. During the process of purchasing the property there was a personal hardship where Adam needed to reside in the house after closing so we granted a leaseback to help him and his family out.
There were dynamics taking place during the leaseback, for example; the refrigerator we purchased with the property was removed and replaced with a different one. When it was done without me knowing and then presented to me as an upgrade, upon informing Adam to bring the appliance back, he did and then sarcastically stated "It's gotta be this way, huh". If it were just that I wouldn't even complain but since moving in I actually had to replace that refrigerator with my home warranty because of the abuse to it. I am pointing this out because it spoke loudly of the character of this entity.
On my move in day, I arrived to the home in shambles. It was filthy and unfit for farm animals. It was an absolute assault on me and my family, especially considering Adam had promised to have the home professionally cleaned on move out and instead of doing so he trashed the home. Again, this speaks loudly of character.
After the fact there was an exchange with Adam about it but I was so disgusted, I didn't even want to speak with him or deal with him anymore. I guess I was cutting my losses.
So, fast forward a few months into the home, adapting to my new community and on the road to really being thankful for being here, a new crisis arose. The Pool Store here in town informed me there was a substantial leak in the pool. They informed me that they do not do leak detection or repairs and referred me to Pools Plus in Visalia. They also told me they had discussed this with Adam which is probably why Adam, prior to me occupying the home, was deliberate in advocating me to not use The Pool Store, a local Coalinga pool store, due to, in Adams words, not doing a good job.
To make an exhaustingly long story as short as possible, I learned from Pools Plus that Adam had approached them in September of 21' to do a leak detection but he never followed through. This is the exact month the home was listed for sale and there was NO disclosure of any sort of leak in the pool. So, after paying thousands of dollars I took him to court for fraud and won.
To take someone to court you must have them served. He was served at his Cedar St address, not the address he reports in district 1. I say this because I have learned through other parties that he in fact does not live at the Monterey St address and basically uses a broom closet at that address to establish residency to represent my district. As a tax payer and citizen of Coalinga, my home, I am unhappy with the council turning a blind eye on this situation.
I could go on and on about him not appearing in court due to him self reporting COVID but on my court date he entered and exited the city building on multiple times and from what I am told no one was informed about him having COVID when he was there. Well, it is either he had COVID and did not care about whom he was in contact with, or, he was lying about having it to the courts. Either way, as a tax payer and citizen of Coalinga, I am disappointed in the entire situation.
As of this date January 19th 2023 I haven't been compensated for my losses from Mr Adkisson, court ordered, and I can only assume I will not be compensated. Let's face it, October he reached out and stated he was cashing in a money market account and taking care of the debt in short order. It's gotta be this way, huh?
In closing, I do NOT want someone who lives out of my district to represent my neighborhood and has total disregard for the law. The games in this town need to stop and stop right now. Am I asking too Sincerely,
Erich M Headrick I
