City Manager Reports
City Manager Barros reported the following:
• The Town has partnered with TextMyGov, a communication tool that government agencies use to connect with residents via text messaging. Residents use TextMyGov by texting a dedicated number to quickly get information with keywords (like “agenda” or “minutes” to receive a link to those items on the Town’s website). Residents can also opt in to receive

alerts about emergencies, events, or report issues. Staff from the City Manager’s Office, City Clerk’s Office, Recreation Department and Police Department are currently receiving training. Scheduled rollout of this application is slated for October. • We are currently engaged in discussions with Republic Services regarding a potential credit for missed services during the recent labor strike. Preliminary conversations have been favorable, and Staff will provide Council with additional updates as more information becomes available.
• Red curbs have been installed throughout the Town in compliance with AB 413, with the exception of the curb located across Verano. Staff is coordinating with the pavement marking contractor to repaint the affected parking stalls, which will be shifted approximately 5 feet.
• Installation of speed humps and new roadway striping on Mission Road has been completed.
• Pavers at the D St. and Clark Ave. intersection have been repaired. • Community Center floor replacement project, which includes refinishing the floors and baseboards as well as installing hardwood floors in the conference room, commenced this past Monday. The project is scheduled for completion, with the facility reopening for public use, by September 8.
• The Town is in the process of developing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which is anticipated to be released in the coming weeks. Vendor selection interviews are expected to take place this fall. The project will be overseen by the Town’s new Administrative Services Director, who will assume the role on September 8.
• Annual Town Picnic on Saturday, Sept. 6th from 11 – 3pm. Event is for Town residents only.

Mayor Gonzalez requested that Staff develop an outreach plan to inform residents about the TextMyGov application. City Manager Barros indicated that Staff would prepare an internal implementation plan to ensure residents are properly informed.

Council Member Fisicaro noted the following:
• The Town may have missed an opportunity to relocate the fitness classes from Colma Community Center to Sterling Park during the floor replacement project. • Asked for an update on the Home Depot parking lot structure. • Asked for an update on the light poles replacement.
• CalPERS notified members that the insurance is going up for 2026, and Optum Rx is changing to CVS.
