SUBJECT: City Council Committee Assignments for 2026
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council determine the Council Member Committee Assignments for 2026, and make the following motion:
MOTION APPROVING COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS FOR 2026 AND GRANTING TO THE
APPOINTEE DISCRETION IN VOTING ON MATTERS BROUGHT BEFORE THE
COMMITTEE
COUNCIL ADOPTED VALUES
This recommendation is consistent with the Vision category from the Council’s adopted values from the Values-Based Code of Conduct. The Council Members will select committee assignments on various boards and committees within the County of San Mateo and represent the Town of Colma on issues that may have a direct impact on regional issues that are of interest to the Town of Colma.
BACKGROUND
In addition to their primary role as Elected Officials of the Town of Colma, the City Council Members serve on a variety of committees that involve the direct participation of its members in a host of local and regional issues and organizations. It is the Town’s practice for the Council to review and modify committee assignments when a new Mayor is selected.
After the Reorganization of the City Council, Council Members review the committee assignments of the previous term and consider changes. Attached is a worksheet showing the current committee assignments, approved by the City Council on December 11, 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT
This action has no fiscal impact.
CONCLUSION
Staff recommends that the City Council determine the Council Member Committee Assignments, and by motion, approve those Committee Assignments for 2026 and grant to the appointee discretion on voting matters brought before the committee.
