As we approach the end of the current contract year, West Coast Arborists, Inc. would like to take this opportunity to convey our sincere gratitude to you and your staff for another successful year. Together, we have worked diligently to maintain the integrity, health and preservation of the community’s urban forest.
The purpose of this letter is to express our interest in continuing with the agreement for an additional year with a slight adjustment in cost. The current rates have remained fixed since October 1, 2019. The cost adjustment is a result of Consumer Price Index (CPI) changes and increased labor costs as determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations. We respectfully request a cost adjustment of 7.40% based on the CPI for the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim region from the previous 12-month period, as published by the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics:

I hope all is well. I want to take a moment to thank you for this past year of working together.
It’s been an interesting year to say the least. As I’m sure you’ve seen, many industries are faced with rising costs. We have tried to absorb these costs by trying to be more efficient and more cost conscious, however, there are several factors that directly impact our operating costs: labor, fuel and recycling.
The current rates have remained the same since October 1, 2019. As we approach the end of the initial term of the Agreement, we want to express our interest in continuing for an additional year with a cost adjustment based on the Consumer Price index. At this time, we respectfully request a cost adjustment of 7.40% beginning October 1, 2022. Attached to this email please find our proposal letter for your review and consideration.
