RESOLUTION NO. _____
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA APPROVING A FUNDING APPROPRIATION FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL FOR THE CITADEL BLACK FRIDAY WEEKEND SALES EVENT WHEREAS, each year, staff and stakeholders coordinate the preparations for current year’s Citadel Black Friday Weekend Sales Event; and WHEREAS, these meetings include representatives from the Citadel Management team, LA County Sheriff’s Department, LA County Fire Department, private traffic control company and City of Commerce representatives from Public Safety, Transportation and Public Works; and WHEREAS, in an effort to minimize traffic related impacts on the communities closest to the Citadel; and WHEREAS, the City works closely with a contracted traffic control company to implement a Traffic Control Plan in the public right-of-ways surrounding the Citadel Shopping Center; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City continue to contract out the implementation of a Traffic Control Plan and a funding appropriation is required from Measure AA’s Public Safety Fund in the amount of $38,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. Approve use of a Traffic Control Plan and an appropriation of $38,000 to implement the Plan.
Section 3. The Mayor is authorized to execute this Resolution on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
