SUBJECT: Rescheduling of November 8, 2022, Regular City Council Meeting due to City Special Election Meeting Date: October 25, 2022
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council consider rescheduling the Tuesday, November 8, 2022, City Council meeting to Monday, November 7, 2022, or any other date and/or time acceptable to the City Council, due to the City’s special election on that date.
BACKGROUND:
City of Commerce Municipal Code section 2.08.040 provides that all regular City Council meetings shall be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Since the Special Municipal Election is held on the second Tuesday of November, in order to avoid the conflict of having the City Council meeting on Election Night, it is recommended that the Council consider rescheduling City Council meeting either to Monday, November 7, 2022 or to cancel the meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This activity can be carried out without additional impact on the current operating budget.
