SUBJECT: Council meeting schedule – cancelling December 27, 2022 meeting and rescheduling January 10, 2023, to January 12, 2023, due to holiday closure of City hall Meeting Date: November 22, 2022
RECOMMENDATION:
Council to consider canceling the regular City Council meeting originally scheduled for December 27, 2022, and rescheduling the regular meeting of January 10, 2023, to January 12, 2023, due to City Hall Holiday Closure.
BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS:
The Commerce City Employees Association was consulted and City Council approved a City Hall Closure from December 26, 2022, to January 6, 2023. The regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council falls on December 27, 2022, during the holiday closure when people typically take time off and thus productivity slightly slows, thus it is recommended to cancel the second meeting in December. The first regular City Council meeting of the year was originally scheduled for January 10, 2023, staff recommends instead holding this meeting on Thursday, January 12, 2023 to provide more time for the preparation and/or finalization of agenda reports and presentations.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This activity can be carried out without an additional impact on the current operating budget.
