A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) FORD F-350 STAKE BED TRUCK FROM DOWNTOWN FORD WHEREAS, the staff is recommending that the City Council approve the purchase of one (1) Ford F-350 Stake Bed Truck from Downtown Ford, for $99,361, through State Contract Purchase Agreement, Via the United States General Services Administration (GSA); and WHEREAS, on September 6, 2022, the Measure AA Advisory Committee (MAA) approved the purchase of the Ford Stake Bed Truck as part of the Fiscal Year 2022/2023 Capital Improvement Program (CIP), and on September 13, 2022, the City Council approved a budget allocation of $110,000 for the purchase of a new stake bed truck as part of the amended Annual Operating Budget and CIP for the Fiscal Year 2022/2023; and WHEREAS, Public Works utilizes the stake bed truck as a utility piece of equipment throughout the City for tasks such as loading and unloading equipment, pallets, road debris, sand, dirt, and other bulky items that require transport; and WHEREAS, the purchase will be accomplished through a State Contract Purchase Agreement via Request for Proposal (RFP) Contract # 1-22-23-20F, initiated by the United States General Services Administration (GSA), whereby Downtown Ford was one of the successful vendors contracted to provide Ford Trucks, and Related Handling Equipment, Attachments, Accessories, and Services. The contract, which commenced November 4, 2022, is good through November 3, 2025; and WHEREAS, GSA is the nation’s largest purchasing cooperative, connecting thousands of public agencies and educational institutions to create immense purchasing power. A lead public agency has competitively solicited GSA contracts in accordance with their public purchasing rules and regulations. Each solicitation contains language that advises all suppliers of the subsequent contract (see attached contract terms and conditions) that other government agencies may use throughout the United States. GSA contracts are established to meet both the competitive solicitation and consent requirements; and City Council Meeting – December 13, 2022

WHEREAS, the total cost of this project shall be covered with approved Measure AA Funds in an amount not to exceed $110,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2: The City of Commerce purchase one (1) Ford F-350 Stake Bed Truck from Downtown Ford for a price not to exceed $99,361.
Section 3: Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 4: This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
