RESOLUTION NO. 23-__
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH STANTEC CONSULTING SERVICES, INC TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE TUBEWAY RE-ALIGNMENT PROJECT FROM TELEGRPH ROAD TO SMITHWAY AND AUTHORIZING PROJECT MANAGEMENT SERVICES BY TRANSTECH ENGINEERS WHEREAS, Tubeway is a 70 feet roadway which runs in a north south direction between Telegraph Road and Smithway City is considering opportunities for realignment of Tubeway through circulation studies and associated preliminary engineering assessment; and WHEREAS, on February 22, 2023, staff requested proposals for the Professional Services for the Tubeway Re-alignment Project; and WHEREAS, one proposal was received from Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.
WHEREAS, the proposal was evaluated based on an established criteria including compliance with RFP requirements, proposal quality, project understanding, approach, methodology and responsiveness, effectiveness of project schedule, and experience of assigned staff including prior experience of working relationship of key team members in past similar projects; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council award a professional service agreement to Stantec Consulting Services Inc. (Stantec) for the Tubeway Re-alignment Project for a total amount of $88,787; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize Transtech Engineers to provide Project Management Services for a total amount of $8,878.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. Approve a professional service agreement with Stantec Consulting Services Inc., for the Tubeway Re-alignment Study from Smithway Street to Telegraph Road, in a form approved by the City Attorney, in the amount of $88,787 attached here in as Exhibit “A” and furthermore, authorize City Manager to execute an amendment to the agreement should it become necessary.
Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the professional services agreement and this Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 4. Authorize Transtech Engineers, Inc. to proceed with Project Management Services, pursuant to their existing on-all agreement for consultant services.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
