SUBJECT: Regular Meeting Cancellation – May 23, 2023

RECOMMENDATION:
City Council will consider cancelling the regular City Council meeting of May 23, 2023, due to City Council and City Staff participating in ICSC.
BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS:
Since some City Councilmembers may be attending the ICSC Conference on the same day as the regularly scheduled City Council meeting of May 23, 2023, there may not be enough Councilmembers present to establish a quorum. It would be reasonable to consider cancelling the meeting, however, cancelling the meeting should not impact the City Council's ability to address any immediate needs that may arise. If the need for a meeting arises, City Council can call a special meeting to address business accordingly.
ALTERNATIVES:
Approve staff recommendation; or
Reject staff recommendation and keep the May 23, 2023 regular meeting; or Provide other direction. Such as, if the City Council prefers, the regular City Council meeting of May 23, 2023 can be rescheduled to May 25, 2023, or May 30, 2023 or another date of the City Council’s choosing.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This activity can be carried out without additional impact on the current operating budget.
