A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE LOS ANGELES URBAN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Commerce desires to participate in the Los Angeles Urban County Program for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, in the County’s Consolidated Plan for Fiscal Years 2024-2026, commencing on July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027; and WHEREAS, participation in the Los Angeles Urban County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program requires execution of a Cooperation Agreement with the County of Los Angeles; and WHEREAS, the City authorizes the execution of a Cooperation Agreement with the County of Los Angeles in order to receive CDBG funds and carry-out activities with such CDBG funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE DOES HEARBY RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Commerce hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. The City Council adopts and approves its participation in the Los Angeles County Urban County Program and receiving CDBG funds, and execution of the City Cooperation Agreement between the City of Commerce and the County of Los Angeles in a form approved by the City Attorney for the time period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027 and self-renewing thereafter.
Section 3. The City Council authorizes the Mayor, or his designee, to execute any and all documents necessary for participation in the Los Angeles Urban County CDBG Program on behalf of the City of Commerce. The Mayor is also authorized to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Commerce.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council.
