Item No.
TO: Honorable City Council
FROM: City Manager
SUBJECT: Capital Improvement Program Overview for FY 2023/2024 Meeting Date: June 27, 2023
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council will consider adopting a Resolution approving the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for Fiscal Year 2023/2024 and provide direction to staff regarding priority projects.
ANALYSIS:
Annually, staff presents City Council with a proposed CIP for consideration and prioritization, which includes an opportunity for all departments to submit their requests to the Public Works Department. The attached list represents potential projects. Staff ranked projects with additional funding sources higher in priority order. However, it is City Council’s discretion to determine their final priority order and which projects to fund through Measure AA.
On June 20, 2023, staff presented this information to the Measure AA Committee and they expressed their support of the City investing in its infrastructure for roads and facilities to meet the needs of the community and make the City attractive to new businesses. They recommend that the City Council approve staff’s recommended CIP Program for FY 2023/2024 as attached with Measure AA Funds.
Staff prepared a PowerPoint presentation as an overview of the projects for discussion.
ALTERNATIVES:
Approve staff recommendation
Disapprove staff recommendation
Provide further direction to staff
FISCAL IMPACT:
Should Council approve the recommended CIP Program for FY 2022/2023 as presented and recommended by the Measure AA Committee, the net fiscal impact to Measure AA after recognizing reimbursable grant amounts and other funding sources would be $9,567,703. There is sufficient funding in Measure AA to allocate these funds.
RELATIONSHIP TO STRATEGIC GOALS:
The agenda item relates to the 2016 Strategic Plan
